Preston the Composer

Preston was still battling his cold, so Mommy decided to call the doctor on Thursday. They told us that a cold is only supposed to last 7-10 days and since it had been that long, we should take Preston in. We took Preston to the doctor that night and the doctor decided that he had a little ear infection (after she cleaned out lots of wax from his ears- which he really hated!). So- now Preston is on antibiotics for the next 10 days. He has still been in a relatively good mood though so that is nice.

Preston's new thing is to play his piano on his activity center. He can sit there forever and play. He literally sat there for an hour one day jammin' out. It got a little old hearing the same thing over and over, but we are glad that he is doing new things every day!

Video for Aunt Molly

Since Aunt Molly is in Peru, she decided to get Preston a present for every month she would be gone (until June). Here is Preston opening up his February present. Thanks Aunt Molly!

Fun Times with Daddy

Preston thinks Daddy is just so silly! Mommy likes to try and catch it on video.

Preston loves to do sit-ups. He has a long way to go before he gets rid of his belly though :)

Valentine's Day

Grandpa Kyle came down to visit on Valentine's Day, so Mommy and Daddy went to Adel to test drive a car and also out to eat at Spaghetti Works while Grandpa watched Preston. Grandpa and Preston had a good time playing and singing funny songs together. We ended up buying the car we test drove on Monday (Jeep Compass) and got rid of the crappy Mountaineer that Daddy drove. He is super happy to have a car he doesn't feel embarrassed to drive :) I will have to post a picture of the car soon. The whole Eichmeier family has been battling some yucky colds in the past week so that is not fun. Mommy even lost her voice for a few days. Preston doesn't seem too uncomfortable with his stuffy nose and cough, but he does hate it when we have to suck his nose out several time a day! We are working on getting Preston to roll over, but he hates tummy time so that is a struggle. He can roll over from his side, but not all the way yet. The doctor also said that usually the babies that are 90% and above in weight are late rollers just because they have so much weight to move :) We also found 2 bottom teeth in Preston's mouth tonight, which I thought was a little early, but I guess we will have to deal with a teething baby soon! It is just so fun to watch Preston learn and experience new things everyday.
Daddy and Preston went and bought Mommy some flowers, candy, and a card when she was having a rough week due to work and class. It wasn't even Valentine's Day-it was about a week before, which was even better because I wasn't expecting it. I'm a Heartbreaker, dream maker, love taker.......
I got this cute Valentine outfit from Aunt Kristi!

These next 2 pics are for you- Grandpa Kyle and Aunt Molly. Here is Preston kissing his Luther Bear.
He is so soft.....

Grandpa and Grandma Eichmeier came to visit us last week because Grandpa had work in Des Moines. Grandma Sue is rocking Preston to sleep.

I love Cereal!

Here is Preston's 1st time eating cereal. He is doing such a great job with it (chewing, swallowing, opening his mouth for the spoon), we might start him on veggies soon! Sorry everyone, this is a very long video, but I haven't figured out how to cut them short yet. Enjoy!

Okay, so this is Preston's REAL 1st experience with cereal. It didn't go so hot, so we had to quit early. It was totally Mommy and Daddys' faults, though. We thought it would be a good idea to do it right before his bath at night because he would get messy. Preston did not agree with us. He gets too tired, cranky, and just too hungry to eat cereal at this time. Thank you, Preston, for that valuable lesson.

Thunder Thighs!

As you all know, Preston is a very good eater. His legs have become outrageously huge so I thought it would be fun to post some naked shots of them. He has some big tree-trunk legs! They are so big, sometimes we have to put some of his clothes in storage because they just don't fit over his chunky legs!
Look at that belly and those cheeks! Now, look at those legs!

4 Months Old!

Preston is now 4 months old. At his appt, he was in the 95th percentile for weight at 18 lbs and 4 oz. Mommy was happy that there are still 5% of babies that weigh more than him! Luckily, he was also in the 90th percentile for height at 26 1/4 inches. He got some yucky shots and the doctor also gave us the okay to give Preston cereal.
His shirt is so true: "Big Guy, Big Eater" So Big!

Mommy finally decided that she was being selfish by keeping Preston in Mommy and Daddy's bedroom (he was getting way too big for his cradle) and let Preston move to his crib :( I know he can sleep much better in his own bedroom and loves to sprawl out. Mommy still checks on him every couple of hours though! This is his first night in his crib.
We hate these cold Iowa winters! But he looks so cute in his Pooh hat and mittens!

Family Times!

Daddy, Mommy, and Preston have been traveling around Ventura and Greene to see family members the last few weekends. In fact, I don't remember the last weekend we actually stayed home, so this weekend has been nice just staying in Altoona. Our house definitely needed some cleaning! Mommy, Preston, and Aunt Molly even got stuck on some icy roads and white-out conditions one weekend which was really scary! Aunt Paige came back from Texas last weekend to interview for some teaching abroad positions (and she got one teaching in Costa Rica!) and Aunt Molly left for Peru on Monday....so it was nice spending the weekend with them.

Activity Center

Grandpa Kyle got Preston this activity center for Christmas. His toes barely touch the ground, but he loves to sit like a big boy in it. This video was taken awhile ago because now he can really grab the toys and play the piano that is on it. Hopefully soon he will be able to scoot around the activity center and practice walking!

Splish Splash Preston's takin a bath!

Preston loves bathtime and he gets a bath every night before bed. Since he is getting too big for his little baby bath (this video was also taken weeks ago!), Mommy and Daddy are buying a new bathtub this weekend because currently ours does not work. Mommy is also excited because she loves baths and hasn't taken one forever! Uncle Shawn and hopefully Grandpa Larry and the rest of the Eichmeier family are going to come down at the end of the month and help put it in. Yippee!
